Course Description

The Advanced Diploma of Accounting courseis designed to allow students to build on their knowledge gained in the Diploma of Accounting. This course will ensure that students can succesfully complete management reporting, understand managerial roles in the workplace and operate at an advanced level of accounting.

This course prepares students to perform assistant accounting duties for private and public entities. Students develop knowledge in supervising and controlling accounting systems, maintaining internal control systems, preparing financial statements for reporting entities, analyzing business performance, preparing tax returns and managing small teams.

    * Develope and use complex worksheets;
    * Prepare complex tax returns and and lodgements;
    * Monitor corporate governance activities;        
    * Develop and implement financial strategies;
    * Conduct internal audit;
    * Evaluate business performance;
    * Prepare and analyze management accounting information;
    * Evaluate organization's financial performance;    

Entry Requirements:

    * Year 12 or equivalent certificate of secondary education;

    * Recomended English level: * IELTS 5.5 (If the level of English is insufficient a suitable course can be organised);
                                             * TOEFL 530 or equivalent;

Course Delivery and Assessment Methods:

    * Delivery and assessment methods are selected to reflect the nature of the elements and performance criteriaof the competency together with the needs and learning style of the participants;

    * The mode of delivery is face-to-face classroom teaching. Assessment is ongoing, competency based and utilises a variety of assessment methods.

Vocational/Employment Outcome:

    * Upon succesful completion of this course, students may exit with an Advanced Diploma of Accounting or continue with credits awarded towards a university degree;
