Course Description

 

Graduates of the Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled / Division 2 Nursing) become eligible for registration as a Division 2 Registered Nurse, with medication endorsement. In this course you will gain important clinical experience through placements. Victoria University’s award simulation 'labs' gives you supervised training and hands-on learning experiences that will build your skill base and your confidence.

Those who successfully complete this course may apply to the Nurses Board of Victoria (NBV) for registration as a Division 2 Registered Nurse. It is important that you read the additional information below before applying.

Core Units of Study

    * Undertake Basic Wound Care;
    * Deliver Nursing Care to Consumers With Mental Health Conditions;
    * Apply Legal and Ethical Parameters to Nursing Practice;
    * Deliver Basic Nursing Care to Older Clients;
    * Deliver Nursing Care to Acute Care Clients;
    * Apply First Aid;

Elective Unit of Study

    * Administer and Monitor Medications in the Work Environment;
    * Analyse Health Information;
    * Apply Effective Communication Skills in Nursing Practice;
    * Implement and Monitor Nursing Care for Clients With Chronic Health Problems;
    * Contribute to the Complex Nursing Care of Clients;

 
English Language Requirements

IELTS (Academic Module) result with an overall score of 6.0 (no band less than 6.0).
